While trying to track down some hiking boots for my wife for a Mother’s Day gift, I came across a rather interesting website called Zappos.  My eyes were immediately drawn to the featured product image shown below:

This eclectic merger of fashionable Victorian high-laced boots with combat boots is certainly eye-catching and hopefully functional, but would you wear these boots to a wedding?  Rather than tip my hand that I was looking for boots for my wife, I asked for my daughter’s opinion.  “Dad, get with it! Of course it works well with a wedding.  I’m not sure that I would wear boots under a white wedding dress, but it would be quite chic for an outdoors wedding.”

Obviously, times are changing.  While this particular style may not work for your wedding, there are many other cutting-edge designs in women’s boots available at Zappos.   In the meantime, I will go back to looking for hiking boots.
